The snowy egret (Egretta thula) is a small white heron. In all we put on about 30 miles in a half day, had a nice ride and we have promised to make the entire trip next time if we can figure out the transport details. On the far bank you can see some pumps still pumping.

  • It’s best avoided by staying on the trail and wearing long pants and long sleeved shirts to prevent contact with skin.
  • The park has a lot of facilities ranging from a Community Center right down past tennis courts, ball fields, a track and such to trailside parking, water, and restrooms handy for the folks going up and down the SGRT just over the fence. And despite the love it received from the community and beyondfisherman using the the river bike trail would often make it a pitstop as would avid bicyclists and runners from both Orange and Los Angeles Countiesit soon became derelict after the space's lone renovation in the 1990s. Also, several underpasses are too narrow and have poor line of sight to see oncoming traffic. I left Norwalk and rode to Seal Beach (enjoyed River's End Cafe there), and back.
